![]() My dinner reservation (made over 2 months in advance) could not be confirmed until the restaurant received a. The concierge at my top rated hotel recommended the Signature Room. On my visit to Chicago, I wanted to dine at a restaurant with a beautiful view. I asked the manager why they didn't use the second elevator as it just didn't make any sense and I got the usual answer "I know - I'm sorry" I said don't apologize and do something about it, which he just nodded his head and no further acknowledgement.Ĭhicago is a great city with amazing restaurants / staff etc., go to the observation deck get a great view of the city and go eat somewhere much better and get a true taste of chicago. They took the lady from the fall and no one else in the elevator and continued to make everyone else wait. At this point they've taken your money for a horrible experience let's just make it worse. So in other words they could "use" a second elevator to make the experience better, but chose not to. All of this while the "hostess" had told everyone to go ahead and use the elevator. Then another elevator shows up and of course what does everyone do - get in the elevator - only to have someone from security SHOUT to all of the guest to get OUT OF THE ELEVATOR. Mind you this elevator also serves the guests at the bar on 96 - so it was slow to say the least.ĭuring all of this a lady had taken a "fall" from some steps and fire rescue showed up. Only to discover that it was the line for the elevators back to ground level.įor some reason mgmt, the building not sure whom has decided to only operate one elevator. We opted out of desert because why continue the disappointment and headed for the elevators and a large crowd at the lobby of the elevators. Yes it was roasted, but with absolutely no seasoning or flavor, and as bone dry as you can think. The others ordered roasted chicken that well - a rotisserie chicken from your local grocery store was better than that. The "greek salad" that was suppose to come with it was warm and the sauce was all over the plate, honestly it looked like vommit. They were charred on the outside and dry on the inside even though we ordered them medium to medium rare. Three of us at the table ordered the lamp chops, none of us which could eat them. I think you can get a better seafood tower at Red Lobster it was shameful, especially for the price. Our first item arrived a seafood tower, which was really 3 plates put on a tower - no decoration - as plain and simple as can be 4 tiny pieces of lobster shrimp and oysters. He took our orders (mind you if you want bread it's $9 for 5 pieces) nothing and I mean nothing is free at this place, well yes the elevator ride but you'll pay for that later. Once seated we had water and menus, and then we waited for our server. Once up stairs, check in and wait for you table which ok it's quite common nowadays. Those going to the bar have the same priority as those with a reservation, not sure where the perk of having a reservation is. If you decide to go, be prepared to wait in line downstairs to even with a reservation. You take the time to make a reservation anticipating when you arrive that it'll be an experience as it is "the signature room on 95th" that's where it ends at. The concept of a restaurant with a view is excellent, however the experience is horrible.
